Welcome to a transformative week where we embrace the ancient practice of fasting to renew our bodies, sharpen our minds, and reconnect with our inner selves. This isn't just about abstaining from food - it's a holistic reset for mind, body, and spirit.
Why This Journey?
- For the body - give your digestive system a break, detoxify, and free up energy for healing.
- For the mind - cultivate mental clarity, discipline, and resilience.
- For the spirit - create space for reflection, gratitude, and inner peace.
Whether you're a beginner easing into fasting or an advanced participant diving deeper, this journey is designed to meet you where you are. Together, we share recipes, meditations, and moments of triumph as we support one another.
Preparing the Body
- Taper off stimulants - reduce caffeine, sugar, and processed foods 1-2 weeks before starting, to minimise withdrawal symptoms.
- Hydrate - drink 2-3 litres of water daily in the days leading up to the fast.
- Eat nutrient-dense foods - vegetables, lean proteins and healthy fats to build nutrient reserves.
- Medical check - consult a healthcare provider first if you have conditions like diabetes or are on medication.
- Rest - prioritise 7-8 hours of sleep nightly, and begin light stretching or yoga.
Preparing the Mind
- Set clear intentions - ask yourself, why am I fasting? Write it down.
- Educate yourself - learn about the stages of fasting to stay motivated.
- Practice delayed gratification - start with shorter fasts (12-16 hours) to build discipline.
- Journal - track your thoughts, fears, and goals along the way.
- Affirmations - repeat phrases like “my body is resilient, and this fast will renew me.”
Preparing the Spirit
- Set a spiritual intention - connect your fast to a higher purpose: gratitude, healing, or prayer.
- Create a sacred space - a quiet corner for meditation, prayer, or reflection.
- Gratitude practice - list three things you're grateful for daily.
- Nature immersion - spend time outdoors to ground yourself before the fast.
- Declutter - cleanse your environment, physically and digitally, to mirror inner renewal.
The 7-Day Beginner's Path
Designed for beginners, this path guides you gently through One Meal a Day → Fruit Fast → Water Fast, building confidence and strength along the way.
Days 1-3 · One Meal a Day (OMAD)
- Eating window: roughly 11.30am after a 7.30pm finish the night before - a minimum 16-hour fast.
- Prioritise nutrient-dense foods: veggies, whole grains, legumes, healthy fats. A full vegetarian lunch, with fruit as a snack.
- Outside the eating window: water, herbal tea, or black coffee.
Days 4-5 · Fruit Fast
- Eat only fruits - fresh or blended - and drink water. Bananas, apples, berries, melons, dragon fruit.
- Avoid dried fruits or juices with added sugar.
- Eat small portions every 2-3 hours.
Days 6-7 · Water Fast
- Consume only water (2-3 litres a day), with electrolyte support if needed.
- Rest - avoid strenuous activity; opt for light walks or stretching.
You're Not Doing This Alone
When the community fasts together, we meet twice daily - morning breathwork and silent sitting, and a group meditation at night. Lean on each other, celebrate progress, and honour the wisdom of your body.
It's not about perfection - it's about progress. Every small step counts. You're stronger than you think; you're already winning by starting.
Fasting is not about punishing the body, but awakening the soul.
